Classes for Children
Continuing a tradition of dance excellence since 1939, the McTeggart Irish Dancers are Colorado’s premier school of Irish dance.
Boys and girls learn a unique and beautiful dance, incorporating rhythmic footwork, athletic agility, and individual expression. Our dancers perform year-round at festivals and public events.
Please view the links on the right to get information on our class locations through out Colorado.
BEGINNER
Our introductory class is geared toward children ages 4 and up. New dancers learn the basics of Irish rhythm, foot position and posture, and work to master the traditional Reel and Light Jig.
Continuing dancers extend their knowledge and training in the four standard light-shoe dances: Reel, Light Jig, Slip Jig and Single Jig.
* Dancers with previous training in Irish dance must contact the school director for placement in a higher class (email dance-at-mcteggart.com).
OPEN HOUSE CLASSES
Potential dancers and parents are invited to attend our Open House classes, held periodically throughout the semester. Come see what we’re all about! Participate, or just watch. No fees to pay, no obligation to enroll. Wear shoes with a thin, flexible sole.
